All about Woolly Mammoth Skull Key Chain
The woolly mammoth is the superstar of the ice age. Roaming the grasslands and tundra, it lived side-by-side with our human ancestors. All eight mammoth species are closely related to modern elephants. Cloaked in colorful shaggy coats, the woolly mammoth had a domed skull and two huge tusks that acted like snow shovels to clear grass and gather food.
Mammoths existed for over 1 million years and most went extinct only 10,000 years ago. They were hunted by humans and that, along with the changing climate, likely drove them to extinction. Today, the arctic permafrost holds thousands of frozen and mummified mammoths.
